After you complete your CNA classes in Florida, you will be eligible to take the Prometric certification exam. The exam has 50 multiple-choice questions and 5 randomly selected hands-on CNA skills. You are required to pass both parts of this exam to work in the state of Florida.

Maintaining Your Certification

Once you pass the CNA certification exam, you will be listed in the Florida Nursing Assistant Registry making your available to work as a certified nursing assistant. Your certification will need to be renewed by December 31 every 2 years. You are required to have at least 1 hour of paid compensation as a CNA per each calendar month or 12 hours per year for renewal of certification.
