Within 24 months of successfully completing your CNA classes in Washington DC, you will need to take the National Nursing Assistant Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam. This exam is comprised of a written and hands-on demonstration to test your skills, abilities and knowledge of your CNA training. Maintaining Your Certification
Your certification or Registry entry will be valid for 2 years. Within 60 days of expiration you will receive a renewal form that must be completed to keep your certification active. The requirements of certification renewal are at least 8 hours of paid work and 24 hours of continuing education (CE).
