CNA classes in Kansas requires at least 90 hours of instruction including 45 hours of hands-on training in a clinical environment. After you have successfully completed your CNA classes in Kansas, you will need to pass the state’s Kansas Certified Nurse Aide examination from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. This exam is a pass or fail and composed of multiple choice questions plus a live demonstration of skills. This exam must be passed in order to be listed in the Kansas Nurse Aide Registry which makes one eligible to work as a CNA.
Maintaining Your Certification
Your certification as a CNA is valid for 24 months or two years. Roughly 2 to 3 months before your certification status expires, you will be sent a renewal form. In order to qualify for re-certification, you must have worked at least 8 hours for payment as a CNA during the last 24 months.
